As Above, So Below is a play-by-post RPG based on the Dragon Age series of video games. Play takes place during the events of Dragon Age: Inquisition as our characters navigate cutthroat politics, tumultuous relationships, and the looming threat of a sky torn asunder. Set in a world of dark fantasy, we explore mature topics while crafting thoughtful and compelling plots focusing on OC stories with minimal canon involvement. We're an advanced RP for those who are comfortable with creative writing. 18+, 3/2/2, Faceclaims optional.

Silas has a hard time making friends. He's quiet, nervous, and a little odd. But that doesn't mean that he can't warm up to someone who's willing to be patient with him—someone who can accept his eccentricities. He's faced a great deal of trauma and this has made him treat new faces with a certain degree of wariness, but if the right person (or people) were to give him the time to remember how to be a friend, he would make an excellent one.
Enemies
Silas really, really doesn't like Qunari. His racism is tied to his Tevinter heritage and more specifically to the slaughter of his Legion unit at the Qunari's hands. It would be nice to explore both an antagonistic relationship with a Qunari as well as, perhaps, a redemptive one in which he learns something about how harmful bigotry can be. He's also no great fan of people who put too much stock in social status, especially to the detriment of others.
Lovers
Silas is in no place to have a lover, period. He's been living an aromantic life for almost a decade, and he's been carrying so much baggage for so long that it would take a lot of time, devotion, and care to even begin to unpack it. He's never really explored his sexuality enough to know what he wants, but he had a very intense emotional relationship with a soldier in Tevinter whom he was forced to leave for dead. I would love to bring this character back (check my wanted ads) and explore what that would mean for Silas.

Kyne's easy to get along with if you can tolerate his occasional tantrums and odd observations. Nothing pleases him more than meeting new people from far-flung places and picking their brains until they're sick of him. He likes to make mischief and is always ready to be the center of attention, so characters with a penchant for theatrics and getting up to no good will likely find a friend in Kyne.
Enemies
As a rule, Kyne doesn't do enemies, but it wouldn't be hard to imagine he and someone with little time for nonsense and even less for humor being put off by one another. As an Avvar and a dreamer, people who disrespect spirits (and even demons) are likely to end up on his bad side, and mage-haters will definitely find several reasons to punch him in the face. He can be self-important to the point of eye-rolling and is occasionally prone to fits of ennui so severe that he will shun companions in favor of his dreams under the impression that no mortal could ever truly understand him.
Lovers
Kyne loves beautiful and interesting things, which absolutely extends to men. Just about always game for a tumble with whoever catches his eye, it's unlikely he would consider anything more serious unless someone really got under his skin. He'd be a shit lover, anyway, at least until someone knocks him down a peg or two.

Anais is charming, a magnetic personality that draws all kinds. She is confident, dangerous, and mysterious. There's an air of specialness that pervades the circles she moves in, and many try in vain just to get their names to cross her lips. Anais protects those who show her loyalty, and she certainly has many acquaintances, but she hasn't had a true friend since her husband died.
Enemies
Where to begin? Anais has racked up a long list of rivals and enemies over the last two decades. From competitor organizations to spurned lovers to lawmen and jealous nobles, many, many people have a reason to want to bring Anais down and topple her empire.
Lovers
Anais has a preference for women, but she will take on all comers for a night or two of pleasure. She's had many lovers over the years, but she does not consider herself available or interested. She uses sex as a weapon, a means to get what she wants, so getting emotionally close is a task which is almost impossible.
